The member representing Anambra East and West in the House of Representatives, Dr. Tony Nwoye has emerged the All Progressives Congress, APC, candidate for the November eighteen, governorship election in Anambra state.
Dr. Nwoye scored two thousand, one hundred and forty six votes to emerge winner in the primary election.
The result of the election was announced by the Chairman of APC Governorship Primary Election and Borno State Governor, Alhaji Kashim Shettima at Professor Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre, Awka.
Giving further breakdown of the exercise, Alhaji Shettima explained that Senator Andy Uba scored nine hundred and thirty one votes to take the second position while Chief George Muoghalu scored five hundred and twenty five votes to secure the third position.
Twelve aspirants contested in the governorship primary with the only female aspirant, Ms Adaobi Uchegbu scoring one vote.
