In line with the vision of the new administration in charge of the zone, headed by Mr. Ike Okere to proactively drive the corporate communications of the zone to build a credible image both internally and externally, it introduced the Corporate Development Research and Statistics, CDRS in the Zone.
This is the first of his kind in the history of FRCN Enugu Zonal Station.
CDRS major task is to advise credibly on the platforms and strategies that will help to reposition the zone effectively in modern day broadcasting.
Within the two years of its existence as a department in the Station, it has instituted:
- A functional website
- Live audio streaming of Coal City FM
- Strong presence in the social media platform
- An in-house newsletter (Echoes from the East)
- A viable media relationship with other media houses in the zone
- Conducted a public research of audience radio listenership in Enugu and environ, which later gave rise to the re-branding of Coal City FM
- Organized the first Staff Merit Award in the zone

Some Nigerians are calling for the downward review of the jumbo pay received by the political class in contrast to the meager salaries paid to civil servants. The call is coming amid increasing cost of living at a time the country is experiencing bitter economic challenges.

Nigeria is said to have one of the highly rated economics in the world and the largest in Africa. However, the economic realities in the nation in terms of human survival and quality of life still leaves much to be desired, as so many aspects of the country’s economy are still not in proper shape.
As part of media agenda setting, correspondent Chukwubuike Madu in this report sampled the views of some Nigerians on ways the in-coming administration can revamp the economy.
The Joint Health Sector Union, JOHESU in the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Enugu has appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to investigate allegations of corruption and abuse of office leveled against the Medical Director of the hospital, Dr. Jo-jo Onwukwe.
Leaders of the unions who made the appeal in a news conference in Enugu claimed that previous petitions to the Federal Ministry of Health on the matter did not yield any fruitful result.
Correspondent Chukwubuike Madu reports that the workers are threatening to embark on an industrial action.
