ENUGU STATE GOVERNMENT COMMENCES CONSTRUCTION 4 NEW ROADS

The Enugu State Government has commenced the construction of over 7 Kilometers of road in Udenu and Igbo Eze North Local Government Areas.

In a message to a ceremony to mark the take off of the projects, the Governor, Chief Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi said they were expected to be completed within the dry season.

The roads, which were part of the over 10 kilometers road approved in the last Executive Council Meeting include, Obollo Eke Junction-Agala-Okpaligbo Junction, and Ohom Orba-Amajioka-Umuikeoha-Agu Orba, as well as Okpu Agu Orba Road  in Udenu Local Government Area.

Others were Ogurute-Mkpamute-Igogoro-Ikpamodo-Okpo-Amaja Road (phase 1), and Ogurute-Umuogbo Ulo-Isiugwu-Umuopu-Ette Road (phase 1), in Igbo-Eze North Local Government Area.

The Governor who was represented by the State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Mr. Greg Nnaji, said that it was the plan of the administration to extend access to the rural areas through the construction of quality roads and provision of other basic infrastructure.

The out-gone Local Government Council Transition Committee Chairman of Udenu, Mr. Innocent Eze, said the projects would bring succor to the farmers in the affected communities.

Also, the out gone Transition Committee Chairman of Igboeze North Local Government Council, Mr. Olisaemeka Ugwunze commended the gesture of the state government in keeping to its campaign promises to the people.

Meanwhile, the contractor handling the 45 meters Ebonyi River Bridge, Mr. Wael Saimua, has assured the people of Ikem, Isiuzo Local Government Area of the state that the project, which has been on since last administration, would be completed within the first quarter of 2018.

He gave the assurance when the Enugu State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Mr. Greg Nnaji, went to ascertain the extent of work on the project.
