NOA CAMPAIGNS FOR MORAL REARMAMENT

The National Orientation Agency Abia State says it will collaborate with various Stakeholders including the traditional Institutions, security agencies, the media and religious bodies towards refocusing their activities in generating socially acceptable attitude and conducts that will impact positively on the society.

The State Director, NOA, Abia State, Dr. Ngozi Uduma made this known during a Program organized by the Agency on ‘Building a People of Peace’ at Ubakala in Umuahia South Local government Area.

She stated that NOA was poised to execute its commitment towards changing  the perceptions and attitudes of Nigerians in all aspects  of national life.

Dr. Uduma identified tribalism, religious bigotry and negative attitude as some major obstacles towards achieving national development in the country.

“We believe in the values of hard work, we believe in the values of prayer, we believe in the values communal living, we believe in the values of brotherly living and being our brother’s keeper but we discover that today all of these are being eroded.”

The NOA Boss in Abia State noted that the Agency has packaged a comprehensive programme that would create the right environment for development, peaceful co-existence and security in the society.

The Chairman Umuahia South Local Government Area, Prince Obioma Eze Ogbulafor represented by his Chief of Staff, Mr Obinna Ibezim commended National Orientation Agency for organizing the programme and called on Nigerians irrespective of tribe and religion to always embrace peace in all their dealings.

“Our people should carry home this message; let the people in the grassroots know that it is important for peace to reign. When we maintain peace in our society, I think there will be progress.”

Some of the Participants described the programme as timely and promised to contribute their quota towards entrenching peace in the society.
